Born and raised in Wisconsin, I moved to Carmen Serdan, Mexico in 2002 to work in an orphanage. While living my days in the dessert, I came to love this land and the people. It was home. This is where I experienced the healing power of touch as I would hold the babies in the rocking chair before bedtime. Often times doctors and nurses, dentists and therapists along with many others traveled to offer their skills as a helping hand at the orphanage. There was a child suffering from a medical condition and in extreme pain, along her bedside was a nurse and myself. The nurse began to give her a massage. As the massage progressed the child cried in relief as her pain was diminishing! This moment is when the seed to my life as a massage therapist was planted and took root however, years later is when it sprouted.
I moved to Ashland, Oregon in 2004. One beautiful summer day on my daily hike through Lithia Park, I ventured across a small group of people practicing yoga. It captivated me. Thus the beginning of my yoga journey began and soon I developed a strong in home practice that has carried me through life. What I was doing physically, would happen inwardly finding grounding and healing.
In 2016, I graduated from Fox Valley School of Massage in Menasha, Wisconsin. Three years later, I received my 200 hour yoga teacher training.
I value holding space, through compassionate and careful listening to achieve the needs of each client. I believe in the importance of providing quality care through continuing education to help an array of conditions, postural deviations, injuries and illnesses as well as supporting general health and wellbeing. I enjoy the variety of challenges and goals clients bring to the table and the range of tools I can use as a massage therapist— to create a holistic somatic massage experience that melts tight spots, releases holding patterns, and provides a highly nurturing end-feel.
I love working in partnership with my clients, supporting them through massage and yoga, and educating them in ways they can further their endeavor beyond a massage session. Self care is an integral extension of the treatment work we do on the table.
I enjoy gardening, hiking and snowshoeing, birding, knitting and making dream catchers, cooking, and raising my children alongside my loving husband. I value balance, my family and friends, community, the world and my place in it.
